APT Online 2024 Recap: Events 3, 4, 5

Running 10th November to December 2024, and boasting $20 million in series prize pool guarantees, the Asian Poker Tour Online 2024 (APTO) has seen a second weekend of thrilling poker action play out across the virtual felt. Three more of the scheduled 20 Trophy Events are in the books and three newly minted champions have been crowned.

Events #3, #4, & #5 are now done and dusted – more on those below – but these are merely appetizers for the APT Online feast on the menu over the coming weeks, with two-thirds of the exciting series left to play out.

Upcoming highlights in the next recap include action from the $300 Event #6: Sunday Super Stack, running Sunday, November 17th, the $100 Event #7: APT Mini Main Event $1M GTD, running 12th to 17th November, and the $50 Event #8: APT Online Invitational, also running November 17th, with other exciting tournaments scheduled to play out over the next week including:

  • Event #9: Philippines National Cup [Deepstack Bounty] – $128,654* GTD, $85.77* buy-in (*converted from Philippines Pesos) running Tuesday, November 19th at 12pm (UTC)

Event #3: Thailand National Cup

APT Online Recap: Event #3 Final Table

The Event #3: Thailand National Cup (THB 4,000,000 guaranteed) event got underway with 3,425 entrants registering for the THB 2,000 (~USD 57) tournament. A THB 6,302,000 (~USD 180,873) prize pool was generated, with 510 runners securing a payout.

After close to ten hours of play (9:41:25), “ARHINJO” from Belarus sat at the summit, securing the first place payout of THB 710,032.57 (~USD 20,590). China’s “Hu999” went heads up against “ARHINJO”, but ultimately fell short and takes home THB 547,508.55 (~USD 15,877) for second place. Thailand’s “Benzdum”, a Natural8 player rounded off the podium finish in third place, claiming THB 422,186.78 (~USD 12,243) for his efforts.

Notables to cash but come up short of the final table included March 2023 APTO Event #4 Da Nang River's Bounty champion “Bellator Deus” of the Netherlands (47th for THB 13,395.71), and Event #1: APT Online Bounty Kickoff finalist “gimme_Chicken” (64th for THB 10,513.92).

Event #4: Double Stack

APT Online Event #4: Double StackThe $400 Event #4: Double Stack (USD250,000 guaranteed) drew 844 entrants, accumulating a prize pool of USD 317,344. With 123 players making the money, it was “A Laimelis” from Poland who triumphed above all, bringing home a sizeable USD 45,112.18 purse for first place.

Brazil’s “R Aziz Alves” came close but settled for second place, securing a payout of USD 34,785.59, while Japan’s “fourmousecIover” completed the top three, claiming a payout of USD 26,823.34

Other notables to make the paying positions included Event #2: Superstar Challenge third place finisher “522” of China (58th for $1,011.62), Natural8 Ambassador “Nevan Chang” (63rd for $1,011.62), and APT tour regular “Kristof Segers” (82nd for $832.92).

Event #5: Vietnam National Cup [Bounty]

The VND 2,500,000 Event #5: Vietnam National Cup (VND 4,000,000,000 guaranteed) amassed a prize pool of VND 5,039,300,000 (~USD 205,685) from 2,191 entries. A progressive bounty of at least VND 600,000 (~USD 25) was awarded for each player eliminated. The top 240 places were paid out, with a min-cash of VND 2,581,755 (~USD 105).

M Marakhovsky” from Ukraine emerged victorious from the event, collecting a prize of VND 252,228,972 (~USD 10,295) plus VND 283,853,908 (~USD 11,585) in bounties. In second place was Brazilian “decolinobaldo” who claimed a prize purse of VND 252,228,845 (~USD 10,295) and VND 128,920,313 (~USD 5,262) in bounties. Bringing up the top three finishes was Morrocco’s “iHaTe-TurN-onGG”, who takes home VND 200,420,534 (~USD 8,180) and a further VND 29,203,125 (~USD 1,192) in bounties.
