APT Online 2024 Recap: Events #15 - #17

The third thrilling instalment of the Asian Poker Tour Online 2024 (APTO) has entered the final quarter with 17 of the scheduled 20 Trophy Events now complete leaving just the festivals two marquee events—the APT Super High Roller and the APT Main Event $3M GTD—and the APT Online Bounty Closer (Turbo] left to play out.

Events #15 to #17 played out between 26th to 30th November awarding three physical APTO trophies and three more newly minted champions have been crowned. The biggest draw of the weekend was the TWD 3,300 (USD 103) buy-in Taiwan Poker Classic which attracted the fourth-largest field of the series so far with 2,579 entries – more on this below.

Upcoming highlights in the next recap will be the festival’s flagship tournament—the USD 800 APT Main Event $3M GTD—and the two-day USD 3,000 APT Super High Roller, which comes with a tasty USD 750,000 guarantee, both of which will award the series’ final two exclusive APT Online Lion Trophies and six-figure top prizes. 

Event #15: Taiwan Poker Classic

Playing out on Tuesday, November 26th, the TWD 3,300 (USD 103) buy-in Event #15: Taiwan Poker Classic drew the fourth-largest field of the 20 trophy event series so far, with 2,579 players duking it out at the virtual felt over nine hours and 50 minutes of game time for a TWD 7,829,844 (USD 240,670) prize pool – the eighth richest of the festival to date. A total of 360 players made the paying positions, with a min-cash providing a 108 percent return on investment and coming in at TWD 7,021.34 (USD 215).

It was Brazil’s “REGdaRegua” who emerged victorious, overcoming China’s “mmjunAA” heads-up to claim a TWD 924,130.20 (USD 27,725) top prize with the latter banking TWD 712,599.58 (USD 21,380) for their runner-up finish. Uruguay’s “IStartGettingLK” completed the winner’s podium, taking bronze and a pay-out of TWD 549,489.23 (USD 16,485) for third place. Natural8’s “JohanTT” of Taiwan and “4444y” of Lithuania both made the final table, finishing in fifth and sixth place respectively, with the top nine pay-outs as follows:

Another Natural8 player, Vietnam’s “Mah Luv”, narrowly missed out on making a final table appearance and had to settle for the TWD 75,238.82 (USD 2,310) on offer for tenth place. Other notables to cash included Brazil’s “Pai_do_Nuts” (16th for TWD 36,935.33), India's "Siddhanth Kapoor" (18th for TWD 36,935.33), Natural8 Ambassador “Nevan Chang” (50th for TWD 18,131.64), APT tour regular “Wei Zhao” of China (64th for TWD 14,303.15), Event #1: APT Online Bounty Kickoff finalist “gimmie_Chicken” (76th for TWD 14,303.15), and friend of Natural8 “Charlie Chiu” (253rd for TWD 7,021.34).

Event #16: Omaholic Bounty Masters

APT Online 2024 - Event 16 Final TableThe USD 525 buy-in Event #16: Omaholic Bounty Masters played out Thursday, November 28th and saw 360 Omaha enthusiasts attempt to prove their four-card poker mastery over eight hours and 21 minutes of game time with a progressive bounty of at least $125 awarded for each player eliminated.

Players were battling for a share of a USD 180,000 prize pool, which easily eclipsed the tournament’s USD 100,000 guarantee, and it was Austria’s “Max Neugebauer” who claimed the lion’s share, besting Ukraine’s “Kaijigambler” heads-up to take the USD 13,709.70 top prize and earning a further USD 25,000.06 in bounties for a total haul of USD 38,709.76 in total winnings.

Kaijigambler” collected USD 13,709.46 for their runner-up finish and claimed another USD 3,382.80 in bounties for a combined USD 17,092.26 in winnings, with Liechtenstein’s “faaaab” completing the winner’s triumvirate and taking USD 10,389.82 for third, plus a further USD 6,640.61 in bounties, earning USD 17,030.43 in total for the tournament. 

Natural8 player and APT tour regular “Kristof Segers” also made a final table showing, taking USD 7,874.01 for fourth place, and claiming a further USD 2,968.75 in bounties. A total of 41 players made the money, with a min-cash coming in at USD 567.59 and the final table paying out as follows:

Event #17: China Zodiac Classic [Bounty]

Boasting a CNY 1.5 million USD 211,180 prize pool guarantee, the CNY 1,100 (USD 155) buy-in Event #17: China Zodiac Classic played out on Saturday, November 30th and saw 1,588 players in action battling over eight hours and 42 minutes of game time for a share of the CNY 1,607,056 (USD 221,212) prize pool.

With a progressive bounty of at least CNY 250 (USD 35) awarded for each player eliminated the tournament proved to be an action-packed affair, with China’s “DanTeVV” proving their bounty hunting credentials and taking the CNY 88,103.40 (USD 12,130) top prize in addition to making the most in bounty pay-outs and earning a further CNY 105,735.79 (USD 14,555) for combined winnings of CNY 193,839.19 (USD 26,685).

Singapore’s “K Sileikis” took silver and a pay-out of CNY 88,102.67 (USD 12,130) for their runner-up finish, claiming an additional CNY 23,388.69 (USD 3,220) in bounties for total winnings of CNY 111,491.36 (USD 15,350). 

China’s “JieZJ9999” rounded out the winner’s podium, claiming bronze and banking CNY 70,006.16 (USD 9,635) for third place, plus a further CNY 17,847 (USD 2,460) in bounties for a total haul of CNY 87,853.16 (USD 12,095). A total of 180 players made the money, with a min-cash worth CNY 1,162.56 (USD 160) and the final table paying out as follows:
