Danny Tang

It’s time for us to introduce another Team Hot member, and perhaps one of the most well-known poker players in Hong Kong - Danny Tang! Over the last couple of years, Danny has become a staple of the high roller series and has established himself as one of the top players in the world; collecting a WSOP bracelet along with over $18 million in tournament earnings.

Rise To Fame

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the United Kingdom, Danny started his poker journey by playing low-stakes tournaments in and around the UK and found success early on, finishing second in the £550 No Limit Hold’em Deepstack Main Event in Nottingham for just under $50,000. In 2016, he made his debut at the World Series of Poker, securing five cashes in his first series.

He would then spend a year travelling around Asia and Europe, playing in a number of different tournament series. His first big breakthrough would come in December 2017, when he won the €10,300 Pokerstars Championship High Roller in Prague for nearly $450,000. After that victory, Danny’s name spread far and wide, and he’s soon come to be known as a dangerous tournament player. Especially since he’s continued to rack up hundreds of thousands of dollars in tournament winnings!

Not only that, but he also won a WSOP bracelet in 2019 when he won the $50,000 No Limit Hold'em - High Roller event for over $1.6 million. His effort and dedication to poker have been fruitful, as he has amassed over $18 million in tournament winnings and is currently #1 on Hendon Mob’s Hong Kong All-Time Money list.

Biggest Accolades

Danny has achieved a number of high-profile tournament wins in his career, from his breakthrough win in the €10,300 Pokerstars Championship to the KRW 5,000,000 No Limit Hold'em - Single Day High Roller in Incheon, South Korea.

However, his biggest win came a few months earlier, when he won the $50,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller event at the 2019 WSOP to secure his first WSOP bracelet. Danny beat out a murderer’s row of a final table that included Sam Soverel, Michael Addamo, Adrian Mateos, Ali Imsirovic, and Seth Davies to take home over $1.6 million.

In a whirlwind of triumphant performances, Danny Tang emerged as a dominant force in the 2023 Triton Poker circuit, amassing an astonishing four titles within a few months. His journey commenced at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Vietnam, where he seized victory in the $25,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold'em, securing $427,000 in winnings. His winning streak persisted at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Cyprus, where he exhibited his prowess in both turbo and short deck formats: the $50,000 No Limit Hold'em - Turbo and the $50,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold'em - Main Event.

As the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series made its way to London, Dang continued to dominate the scene, triumphing in the $60,000 + $3,600 No Limit Hold'em - 8-Handed event and adding an extraordinary $1.6 million to his already impressive haul. With a total of four Triton titles in a single year, Danny Tang's remarkable achievements have etched his name into poker history, marking him as one of the most formidable players in the high-stakes arena.

As of date, Danny’s total live earnings is at an impressive $18,962,195, with his best live cash at $1,796,498, when he finished second in the HK$1,000,000 Triton Montenegro Main Event after falling at the final hurdle to American poker pro Bryn Kenney.
