Julien Tran, a former successful IT consultant based in Paris, France, embarked on a unique journey in the world of poker. Unlike most players who transition to full-time poker after playing as a hobby, Julien intentionally sought out poker as a location-independent job and immediately developed a profound passion for the game. This early commitment allowed him to kick-start his poker journey with the right mindset and approach.

In 2016, fueled by his love for the game rather than monetary pursuits, Julien made the bold decision to leave his IT job and fully dedicate himself to poker. His unwavering determination and resilience enabled him to weather the storms of downswings and challenges that often deter other players solely focused on financial gains.

Coincidentally, the same year marked the opening of Vietnam's first poker club, introducing many Vietnamese individuals to the game. Recognizing the lack of information available in Vietnamese, Julien generously shared his knowledge and experiences with the community, helping them gain a deeper understanding of poker strategically and mentally. Rather than hoarding his expertise as a personal advantage, Julien embraced a long-term perspective, believing that nurturing the Vietnamese poker community would benefit everyone involved. Witnessing the exponential growth of the community has been immensely satisfying for Julien.

While primarily excelling as an online cash game player with a profound understanding of modern theory, Julien has recently shifted his focus towards live MTTs (Multi-Table Tournaments). With his dedication and skill, expect to see an array of notable achievements from him in the coming years.

Additionally, Julien proudly serves as the national team coach for the Vietnamese Match Poker team. Their successful participation in the competition held in Hong Kong earlier this year earned them a spot in the upcoming World Cup in Switzerland. This monumental achievement not only brings pride to the young team but also aims to reshape public perceptions of poker in Vietnam, showcasing it as a captivating game of intellectual prowess.
