APT Online Recap Events #5 - #7

Boasting $15 million in prize pool guarantees and running 5th - 26th November 2023, the Asian Poker Tour Online (APTO) is entering its third thrilling weekend and the halfway point of the festival, with 7 out of the scheduled 14 Trophy Events now in the books. You can catch up with the previous action here:

Events #5-#7 played out between 13th - 16th November, awarding three physical APTO trophies and crowning three new champions, with the $88 Event 6: APT Mini Main Event drawing the largest field of the series so far, attracting a massive 11,196 entries – you can read more about this below. 

A total of 18,087 entries have competed over the seven APTO Trophy Events that have played out over the first half of the festival, with ~$3,199,678 in prize money awarded to date and plenty of action left to come!

Upcoming highlights in the next recap include action from the ~$315* Event #8: Taiwan National Cup (*converted from Taiwan dollars) – running Saturday, 18th November at 7 p.m. (HKT), the two-day $1,500 Event #9: APT High Roller – running from 19th - 20th November at 7 p.m. (HKT), and the $210 Event #10 Mystery Bounty Hunter - $100K Top Bounty – running from 13th - 19th November with the Final Stage playing out on Sunday, 19th November at 9 p.m. (HKT).

As reported in the last recap, action in the $800 Event #14: APT Main Event is underway, with a total of 741 players having already locked up a spot in Day 2, which plays out on Sunday, 26th Nov at 9 p.m. (HKT).

APT Main Event Day 1s are running from 11th - 26th November, with daily $8 Step Satellites and $80 Mega Satellites. In addition to claiming the lion’s share of the enticing Main Event $2 million prize pool guarantee, the eventual winner will walk away with an exclusive bespoke APT Online Lion Trophy – don’t miss out on the action!

The Final Table will be streamed in multiple languages on Monday, November 7th at 9 p.m. (HKT).

Event #5: $300 Sunday Super Stack

#5 -Sunday Super Stack

Playing out Sunday, 12th November, the $300 Event #5: Sunday Super Stack drew 992 entries, easily surpassing the $250,000 guarantee and generating a $276,768 prize pool, with the top 161 places paying out and a min-cash coming in at $501.66.

Living up to their moniker, it was Brazil’s “RanThisTable” who bossed the final table action to enjoy a super Sunday, claiming a top prize of $33,035.08 after cutting a three-way deal with opponents “kriausiniene” of Poland and compatriot “Judite” who received payouts of $28,865.22 and $28,127.42 respectively for second and third place.

APT live regular “Vincent Li” also managed a final table appearance, earning $9,232.94 for his sixth-place finish, with the final table paying out as follows:

Other notables to cash but come up short of the final table included Canada’s Nicholas “N Maimone” Maimone (92nd for $654.28), and Taiwan’s “pepsipiranha” (161st for $501.66).

Event #6: APT Mini Main Event

#6 - APT Mini Main Event [Final Day]

Fittingly, outside of the Main Event it was the $88 Event #6: APT Mini Main Event that proved to be the biggest draw of the series so far, drawing a sizable 11,196 entries over the ten starting Day 1 flights.

This saw the prize pool guarantee swell from $500,000 up to $750,000, with the tournament eventually generating a sizable $906,428 prize pool – the largest of the series to date – with a total of 1,312 players fighting their way through to the Final Day, which played out on Sunday, 12th November 2023.

All Final Day competitors were already guaranteed a payout of $195.69, but it was the title, trophy, and tantalizing $73,991.24 top prize that all were gunning for. It was Taiwan’s “pepsipiranha” who claimed the accolades, defeating China’s “xxyman” to clinch the title and five-figure winner’s purse, with their opponent receiving a payout of $55,085.36 for second place.

The Netherlands’ “evartar321” rounded out the winner’s podium, taking $41,060.37 for third place, with the final table paying out as follows:

Other notables to cash but come up short of the final table included APT High Roller specialist “Joshua McCully” (92nd for $1,284.22), Canada’s “TennEggGuy” (166th for $845.87), Russia’s “wraJke@” (190th for $736.74), March’s APTO Event #8: Metro Manila Million champion “Loris51” (259th for $642.11), Natural8 ambassador “Thai Ha (379th for $488.92), the UK’s “Chris Moorman” (638th for $327.22), and reigning APTO Main Event champion “Sioul17” (671st for $327.22) to name but a few.

Event #7: King of the Jungle Bounty 6-Max

#7 - King of the Jungle Bounty 6-Max [Final Stage]

Playing out on Thursday, 16th November, the $525 Event #7: King of the Jungle Bounty 6-Max boasted a progressive bounty of at least $125 for each player eliminated and drew a total of 971 entries over four starting flights. This generated a $485,500 prize pool – over a 20% increase on the $400,000 guarantee.

A total of 111 players battled their way through to the Final Stage, all guaranteed a payout of $830.30 plus whatever bounties they accumulated over the action.

It was South Africa’s “BraceletHunt” who was crowned King of the Jungle, defeating Brazil’s “theheroguy” heads-up to claim a $23,512.69 top prize, plus an additional $30,841.17 in bounties, with their opponent collecting $23,463 for second place, earning a further $11,370.38 in bounty payouts. 

Israel’s “Nesher_boy” took $16,953.47 for third place, plus an additional $3,542.49 in bounties, with the final table paying out as follows:
