One of the more inventive events available here at APT Incheon is the Midnight Tick Tock event. This tournament has a decreasing clock that speeds up by five minutes every hour, starting with 20-minute levels, and ending with 5-minute levels. Natural8’s own Yu-Chung Chang finished runner-up out of 82 players in this event, claiming KRW 2,860,000 for his efforts.
Tournament Winner
Chang was defeated heads-up by Dutch poker pro Martijn Johannes Gerrits - a man who is no stranger to the APT or this event. Martijn took down an earlier iteration of this tournament, event #13 for over KRW 4 million and managed to follow it up with a repeat performance in event #32.
This is Martijn’s eighth APT title, and we wouldn’t bet against him getting to double figures by the end of the year.
Final Tablists
It was clear going into the final table that Chang and Gerrits were the two most experienced players left in the field, so it’s no surprise that they were able to secure a 1-2 finish. However, we’re sure that the rest of the final tablists will be able to use this experience to go on and achieve even greater things on the APT.
Japan’s Yuya Kaneko completed the top three in this event and took home KRW 1,820,000 for their 3rd place finish. They narrowly beat out their country-mate Masato Kashiwabara, who collected KRW 1,380,000 for finishing 4th. Jordan Lam recorded his first-ever live tournament cash in this event, finishing 5th for KRW 1,070,000. Canada’s Katherine Zeng and China’s Chi Zhang rounded out the final table, finishing 6th for KRW 820,000 and 7th for KRW 660,000 respectively.

The faster levels of this tournament ensure that there is always plenty of action, and you have to really know your shoving ranges if you want to do well in this event.
